Changshu has been an important town for seal cutting since ancient times. Famous artists have emerged in large numbers. Yushan Yinpai originated in Miao Zhen of the Yuan Dynasty. At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, with Lin Gao, Shen He, and Wang Jin as the representatives of the Yushan Indian people, divided into Zhu Bubai and tried their best to be pure and simple, to create a generation of Indian style, and to form the Yushan Indian School. During the reign of Qian and Jia Dynasty, Yushan Yinpai was represented by Yan Yuan, Mao Chen and Weng Baofeng, who praised excellence and strength, combined with both knife and pen, and consolidated the position of Yinpai in the domestic seal cutting circle. After the late Qing Dynasty, Zhao Shi, a Yushan Indian, followed Wu Changshuo's example. He learned from ancient times but not mud. His knife skills were sharp and his style was bold and unrestrained. He followed a large number of people and became an outstanding representative of Yushan Indian School in modern times.
