2020 Shanghu Lianghu Greening Reconstruction Project Work Report

On October 13, 2020, Zhou Qindi, secretary of the municipal party committee, led the main person in charge of the cultural and sports travel bureau, the capital planning bureau, the cultural travel company and other units, to investigate the situation of Shanghu forest environment finishing, and on-site research and discussion.

Secretary Zhou pointed out that to comprehensively improve the forest environment of Shanghu Lake, only by doing enough "subtraction" can we do a good job of "addition". The chaotic forest environment blocks tourists' view of the beautiful scenery, requiring the trees to be trimmed and cleaned to enhance the effect of the forest landscape, so that tourists can approach the landscape and feel the beautiful scenery at close range.

In accordance with the relevant requirements for improving the tourism greening landscape put forward by Secretary Zhou, the cultural tourism company and Shanghu company attached great importance to it and quickly organized and implemented the greening transformation of Lianghu Lake. Up to now, the three regions have taken different degrees of action and made substantial progress. The recent work progress is reported as follows:

(I) Taigong Island-Moon Embankment Lake-Flushing Water Villa Area

From October 14 to November 5, the cleaning of reeds, weeds and other aquatic plants along the lake and the pruning of shrubs will be completed. The main work completed is as follows:

① A total of about 2000 ㎡ of aquatic plants such as reed, calamus and Zaili, and 200 ㎡ of shrubs such as winter jasmine, brocade belt flower and golden bar have been cleaned in Taigong Island, Yangliu Island and Aromatic Garden.

② A total of about 6000 ㎡ of aquatic plants such as reeds and 1000 ㎡ of shrubs such as winter jasmine and brocade flowers have been cleaned up in the lunar embankment and today's area in history.

③ A total of about 2500 ㎡ of aquatic plants such as Zaili and lotus were cleaned up in the area of Shuishui Villa, and about 500 ㎡ of shrubs such as Yingchun and Jintiao were cleaned up.

④ A total of 2500 ㎡ of aquatic plants such as calamus, zaili and lotus were cleaned from the lawn outside the middle gate of the water-blowing villa to the area of liuxiang bridge, and 1200 ㎡ of winter jasmine and cuckoo were cleaned.

(II) Sijingyuan Mountain Color Waosheng-Holland Pier Area

During the period from October 14 to November 5, the bamboo forest transplantation and tree pruning and maintenance work in the mountain and sound area of Sijingyuan will be completed, the turf will be laid, the line of sight will be broadened, the landscape quality will be improved, and a sense of hierarchy will be formed. The main work completed is as follows:

① Transplant more than 20 trees and shrubs.

② More than 30 large trees and shrubs were pruned.

③ Green plant color block transplantation has been completed, into the lawn land and fertilization maintenance stage.

④ 1600 ㎡ of turf shall be laid.

Recently, the green space on the west side of the Dutch Xiangzhou wharf is being cleaned up in an orderly manner. It is planned to change the disordered and poorly grown color blocks such as Euonymus vines and azaleas into lawn grounds.

(III) Water Forest 3A Toilet-Sijing Garden Area along the Lake

The recent area of reeds, weeds and other green landscape to clean up. Prune large trees to ensure nutrients, transplant some camellias, and create a neat and beautiful camellia area. As of November 17, the main work completed is as follows:

① Complete the lake shore cleaning reed work.

② Clean up the green area of about 3000 ㎡.

③ Transplant 14 camellia trees, 1 crape myrtle and 7 bamboo piers.

④ The ground shall be leveled and the book belt grass shall be replanted with 1600 ㎡.

(IV) Bamboo Pai Lou Square-Wisteria Corridor

There are many green trees in this area, and the varieties are complicated and uneven. In order to broaden the field of vision and enhance the effect of forest landscape, green plant transplantation and removal work are carried out. Clean up the green space in the area. As of November 17, 1500 ㎡ of green space in this area is being cleaned up.

(IV) Hexiangzhou-Landscape Culture Park

The growth of aquatic plants along the lake in this area is vigorous and disorderly, which affects the feeling of watching the lake in the garden. In order to broaden the field of vision, beautify the environment and clean up aquatic plants. As of November 17, 10000 ㎡ of aquatic plants such as Acorus calamus, cattail, Zhelihua, barracuda grass and bamboo moon have been cleaned up.

Willow pruning in (V) garden

There are many willows (about 500 in total) in Shanghu Scenic Area, with different shapes and various poses. Because they have not been pruned for a long time, the willows grow freely and are slightly unsightly. Therefore, all willows in the park are pruned and maintained. As of November 17, the pruning and maintenance of 170 willow trees have been completed (in order to avoid catkins flying in the coming spring, 110 willow trees located in tourist concentration areas and catering areas have been rebuilt, and the branches of the rest have been cut).
